Dear Honors Student:
It is my understanding that you are currently engaged in an honors project. One of the requirements
for completion is that you deposit a copy of the project with the College Archives housed in the
Snowden Library by the last day of the current semester, (Appropriate day/date given). This copy will
be bound and becomes a part of the permanent archival collection. Your project must have a title page
in the correct format (see example enclosed). We have also included a brief checklist of suggestions
so that your project will have a professional appearance.
When you bring the deposit copy and other copies you want bound to the Snowden Library, please
see Wilma Reeder or Susan Beidler in the Collection Management Services Office (through the
double doors next to the elevator).
You will also need to deposit a digital copy of your completed project in Adobe Portable Document
Format (PDF). Instructions for converting your paper to PDF are available at http://www.lycoming.edu/library/archives/howto.html. You may email the digital copy of your paper
including the signature page as an attachment to Wilma Reeder. Her email address is
reeder@lycoming.edu. Also included with this letter is the Student Research Release Form. Please
read this carefully and then fill in the form indicating your instructions for future access to your
project. Return the form to Wilma Reeder when you bring in the print copy of your project.
If you would also like a copy (or copies) bound for yourself, we will be happy to do that at the same
time. The cost per copy for binding is less than $10.00. To utilize this service, you will need to
provide us with as many copies of your project as you want bound and select the color you want for
the binding. You will be billed at the time the book(s) are returned from the bindery. When we
receive your payment, your copy will be sent to you, so please give us your billing and shipping
address when dropping off your project.
Thank you for your cooperation. You might be surprised at the number of students who want to look
at honors projects from past years.
