Print Reserves
Snowden Library's Circulation Desk handles print reserves for courses. Only required readings or audiovisual materials should be placed on reserve. Space and time limitations preclude placing suggested readings on reserve. The process is, as follows:
- Give the books/photocopies you want placed on reserve to the Library Technician, Circulation.
- Fill out a reserve form for each item, selecting the reserve circulation period desired.
Please indicate exactly how you will tell the students to ask for the item, usually the way you cite it in your syllabus.
Allow three full class days for processing the materials before you expect students to use the material.
Electronic Course Readings
Snowden Library supports the use of electronic course readings in Moodle Classroom Management System. Individual instructors mount readings in their courses on Moodle.
If you need assistance placing reserves in Moodle, please contact Sue Nelson (x4352) or Gail Spencer (x4053) at the Library between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. We will answer your questions as quickly as possible.

Please consider Fair Use copyright guidelines when mounting course readings in Moodle. Click here for answers to common copyright questions.
Instructions for accessing course readings in Moodle:
- Log in to Moodle. (There’s a link to it on the bottom of the Fast Find on the Snowden Library homepage and also a link from the Current Student homepage.) Login problems should be reported to Diane Salamone (x4313) in ITS.
- Enter your Novell user name and password. Click on All Courses and you will see a list of all the courses offered for the semester. Find your course and click on it. If your instructor has an enrolment key (password), you will be asked to enter it to access the readings.
You will see the course readings on the course page. Most readings are pdf’s and will open in Adobe Acrobat.
If you wish to print the reading, use the print icon in Adobe rather than the File print.
