What Is E-Z Borrow?

E-ZBorrow  allows students, staff, and faculty to borrow books from participating Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium (PALCI) institutions in Pennsylvania and surrounding regions. Books may be requested 24-hours a day. Please note this service is only for books.

How Long Does It Take?

Materials usually arrive within 3-5 days, but can take up to two weeks to arrive. Please keep this in mind when placing requests. You will be notified in your Lycoming e-mail address when your item arrives.

How Long Can I Keep Materials?

The due date on the paper that arrives with the book is set by the lending library. You can renew E-Z Borrow materials by logging into your E-Z Borrow account, or logging into your account in the Snowden Online Catalog.

Where Do I Return E-Z Borrow Materials?

Return all EZ-Borrow and ILL materials to the Circulation Desk.

What Is the Difference Between EZ-Borrow & ILL?

The short answer to this question is that EZ-Borrow is just for books; ILL is for books and articles. Also, if a book is not available through EZ-Borrow, it still may be available through ILL. The advantage of EZ-Borrow is that the books tend to arrive a day or two earlier.

How Do I Access My Account?

All library pages have a link to EZ-Borrow in the far left column. You will need to enter the nine-digit number that appears at the bottom of your Lycoming ID. You can manage your account when you sign in as well.

How Do I Place a Request?

  1. Log into your account with your Lycoming ID number.
  2. Search for the book by the author's name, title, or ISBN. You can search by subject as well, although the subject search does not work very well. We suggest searching by subject in the database WorldCat, then going into E-Z Borrow with the title or ISBN.
  3. Click on the blue Request button next to the book.
  4. Verify your contact information and pickup location.
  5. Click on the button and your request will be submitted.
