Password Policy

NOTE: If you have not yet registered for the password management tool as instructed below, you must bring your ID to the Computer Center to have your password reset. Upon receiving a valid password, please register for the password tool which will allow you to manage your own password, should it expire in the future.

Subject: Modified Password Policy - Please Read

Beginning Tuesday, 10/25/11, the password policy will modified slightly. Currently you must use a password that is at least 8 characters in length and is alphanumeric. In addition to these two requirements, you will need to use both cases or add a special character, i.e. !,$,#. Passwords will still need to be reset every 120 days as required by the auditors. Please note that even though the new policy takes effect on 10/25, you will not need to reset your password until it expires.

As a reminder, you can manage your password remotely via a link on the IT Services web page, http://pw.lycoming.edu:8888/showLogin.cc

NOTE: Please take a moment and complete the User Registration you find on this page. You need a valid password to register, and MUST BE REGISTERED TO UTILIZE THE SERVICE. Once you have, you will be able to use this as opposed to calling IT to correct your password issues.
