Computer Labs
  • 4 Windows XP Labs with a total of over 100 computers.  Average age is 1.5 years old.
  • All computers have CD burners for archiving.
  • 1 Computer Graphics Lab with half Macintosh and half Windows XP Workstations.
  • Office XP, FrontPage 2002, Stats, etc.
  • Used for teaching.  50% average use.
  • Laser printers available from labs via the network.
  • 600 sheets / semester – no charge. ($.05 per sheet on amount over)

  • One jack per room.

Personal Computers
  • Windows 98 or Mac OS 8.x minimum.   Windows ME or XP Home are not recommended. (see ResNet web site)
  • 3COM, Netgear, or built-in (Dell, Gateway) network card required.   No Modem connections allowed over phone lines.
  • Repairs are responsibility of the student.
  • Printers not supplied in the residence halls – can have your own personal printer.
  • Files, central e-mail, library databases available from any point on or off campus.  E-mail knowledge expected.
  • Beware of very low-end computers.
  • Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP is the campus standard.
  • BRING YOUR OWN 25 ft. ETHERNET CABLE! (BOOKSTORE)

Commuter Students
  • Freshmen access to LAN storage from Labs or over the Internet.
  • Public e-mail stations in Pennington Lounge and Jack’s Corner
  • Access for Notebooks in Library & Lounge using wireless to all students.  Register network card.
  • GroupWise client to load on home computer or use through Web without any special software.
  • Students leaving orientation will have a full account.
