• SERVER_1 houses all of the applications required for the computer labs and a number of classes.  It consists of the following:
  • Compaq Proliant 1600 Pentium Pro
  • 2 - 300 MHZ processors
  • 2 - 9 GB hard drives (drives are mirrored for redundancy)
  • 1 GB RAM
  • Novell Netware 5.1
   
• SRV2 is the primary server providing networked applications to all faculty and staff.  It also provides individuals, as well as departments, disk space for saving data files and web pages.  It consists of the following:
  • Compaq Proliant 3000 Pentium Pro
  • 2 - 600 MHZ Processors
  • 2 - 36 GB hard drives (drives are duplexed for redundancy)
  • 4 GB RAM
  • Novell NetWare 5.1
    
• SRV3 is the Novell BorderManager server.  It is configured as a proxy server, which allows off campus users to access library supported internet databases.  It consists of the following:
  • Compaq Proliant 1600 PII 350
  • 2 - 18 GB hard drives (drives are mirrored for redundancy)
  • 1 GB RAM
  • Novell NetWare 5.1
  • BorderManager 3.5
   
• MAILSRV provides GroupWise e-mail to all faculty and staff.  It consists of the following:
  • Compaq Proliant ML530
  • 2 -  796 MHZ processors
  • 2 - 18 GB hard drives (drives are mirrored for redundancy)
  • 4 GB RAM
  • Novell NetWare 5.1
  • Novell GroupWise 6

• UTILITY is used to run various administrative software programs, which includes the backup software.  The tape backup unit is directly attached to this server.  It also maintains the BindView inventory that tracks all networked computers.  It consists of the following:

  • 512 MB RAM
  • Novell NetWare 5.1

• DEVELOPMENT services the Development office.  It consists of the following:

• STUDENT1 is the first server providing network access to all students from both the labs and their rooms.  It allows access to e-mail as well as their own individual space for saving data files and personal web pages.  It consists of the following:

  • 2 - 36 GB hard drives (drives are mirrored for redundancy)
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 35/70 GB Tape Drive

• ZEN1 is the Novell ZenWorks server.  This will allow us to monitor and report on all NetWare servers.  It also provides imaging services for all of the computer labs.
