Minimum
Specifications |
All student computers must at a minimum a Pentium IV (AMD Athlon XP is acceptable), with at least 256 megs of RAM and the Windows XP operating system. |

Registration |
All students must register their computers. Please register your own computer in your own name so that ITS can help you if your connection is deactivated due to suspected virus infection. You must login in with your Novell name and password. |

Infected Computers Blocked |
To protect the network, a computer with suspected virus infections that are potentially harmful to other computers will be blocked from accessing the network until it is clean |

Un-patched Systems Blocked |
To protect the network, all Windows systems will need to have all critical updates installed. A computer that is not fully patched will be blocked from the network until it is fully patched. |

Verifying Patching and Disinfection |
The ITS will provide blocked users with the necessary tools to disinfect and patch their computer, and to verify that it is safe before being allowed back on the network. Students must have in place one of nine up to date,
non-trial versions anti virus products.

Updates Spyware Removal Tool |
Spyware is any software that covertly gathers user information through the user's Internet connection without his or her knowledge, usually for advertising purposes. Spyware can also gather information about e-mail addresses and even passwords and credit card numbers. We require all students to install, run and keep up to date Spybot Search and Destroy.
