Career Advisor for the Arts and Humanities

Lycoming College seeks candidates for the position of Career Advisor for the Arts and Humanities. This position concentrates on providing career counseling and professional development to students with majors across the arts and humanities, and includes working with current students on internship placements, graduate school preparation, study abroad opportunities and job shadowing/mentoring outreach. This position will likewise assist in the coordination and development of local, regional, national and international summer experiential learning opportunities. The candidate will join a team including three additional career advisors and will work within Lycoming’s Center for Enhanced Academic Experiences. Career counseling is accomplished through rigorous collaboration with the faculty of the arts and humanities, community partners, alumni, administrators, and individual students to provide structured experiential learning opportunities.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; master’s degree in Career Counseling, Higher Education, Human Resources or an academic discipline in the arts or humanities preferred. Experience in a collaborative collegiate environment is preferred. The Career Advisor must have knowledge of industry trends in one or more disciplines in the arts and humanities cluster area, and the ability to develop internships and relationships with employers for students in the arts and humanities. Candidates should also have a passion for working within a liberal arts institutional setting.
