GREETINGS

      Hi, my name is Pete Semanoff, and I am a History major here at Lycoming College.

      When I started looking at colleges during my Junior/Senior year of high school, I had no idea of what I was looking for. I had previously visited a sundry of colleges and universities around the state. None seemed to fit me. I was tired of looking. I had heard of a small liberal arts school near the Susquehanna River in Williamsport, PA. The school was named Lycoming. I decided to make one last college visit, to Lycoming, and I’m glad that I did! I fell in love with the school. The moment I left the Lycoming College campus I knew that this was where I belonged. The atmosphere was relaxed and I had no doubt in my mind that the academics were top notch.

      Coming into Lycoming my freshmen year I knew that I wanted to get involved with the history program. History had always been a passion of mine. The classes I took at Lycoming were intellectually stimulating. Whether it was a discussion of the Civil War or a debate about the first American colonists, I was hooked. The History department was extremely helpful in guiding me to my career choice and making sure that I was on the right track from start to finish. The guidance given to me by the History department has set me up for success. I am now heading into my senior year and will soon pursue a teaching career upon graduation. Because of the History department I’m armed with the knowledge, preparedness, and experience needed to succeed.
