| Physician Services |
A physician is in the Health Center several hours per week.
Because the college doctor is only here a short time each day appointments
are necessary. Appointments are made after seeing one of the nursing staff.
This initial nursing appointment helps gather all the background information
necessary for the doctor's appointment to go smoothly. It also gives the
nursing staff an opportunity to recommend students to go to the ER if the problem
is urgent. If the nursing staff does not offer you a doctor's appointment, please
feel free to request one if you think this is necessary. There is no additional
charge for the doctor or nursing appointment.
Although the hours the doctor is available often conflicts with class schedules,
most faculty are understanding enough to allow a student to come to class 15
minutes late or leave class 15 minutes early in order to see the doctor. If you
hink a health care provider in the community would better suit your schedule/needs
please ask the nursing staff or secretary for a listing of resources in the community.
