Dr. Mehrdad Madresehee is an economics professor at Lycoming College and the recipient of the college's 2003 Constance Cupp Plankernhorn Alumni Award for Faculty Excellence. Besides being a member of the faculty since 1986, he was the college's Director of Institute for Management Studies between 1996 and 1999 and is presently the chair of economics department.
In addition to publishing several papers in scholarly and peer-reviewed journals, Madresehee has been a consultant and researcher for several Pennsylvania businesses as well as non-profit organizations. Last spring he was chosen to serve as part of the Faculty Fellows Internship Program. He was one of just two faculty members nationwide to be appointed by The Institute for Experiential Learning and the Association of American Colleges and Universities. He interned at the International Economic Development Council, an organization devoted to providing leadership and excellence in economic development. He is currently a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia Council of Community Affairs for North-Central Pennsylvania.
Dr. Madresehee's research interests include- but are not limited to, the following areas: International Economics, Regional Economics, Economic Development and Labor Economics. He is an active member of the following professional organizations: American Economic Association, Eastern Economic Association, Pennsylvania Economic Association, Middle East Economic Association and International Economics Honor Society. He has been featured in Marquis Who's Who in the East, Marquis Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America, and Harvard Business School's Directory of Scholars and Their Research.
