SunnyBrook Meadows

Sunny Brook is seeking volunteers to assist with riding lessons, stable and property projects, events, and fundraising. Community Alliance for Progressive Positive Action (CAPPA)

Neighborhood Network Technology Center:

The CAPPA Neighborhood Network Center located in Williamsport, PA provides extended learning opportunities for youth in a safe, drug free and supervised environment after school from 3:30 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. Monday thru Thursday from September to June; and 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday, June thru August. All educational software is directly aligned with Pennsylvania Academic Curriculum Standards and is done in direct collaboration with Williamsport Area School District to help students improve academic proficiency levels. The CAPPA Neighborhood Network Technology Center provides a community based venue for student participants to spend more time on task. More time on task in a proven strategy for academic improvement.

Office of Aging

The Office of Aging is looking for volunteers to help with their Meals on Wheels Program Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. For more information, contact Michelle Koons at 570-323-3096.

The Office of Aging also runs the Ombudsman long-term care program. Volunteers would be required to complete one day of training. They would then be assigned to visit a home in the area to visit and advocate for residents. For more information, contact Michelle Koons at 570-323-3096.

Advancing Communities by Educating and Serving (ACES)

If you are interested in making a difference in the world, then ACES may be for you. Most of their activities center on projects in the Dominican Republic where the Dominican version of this organization does on-the-ground work directly with people. We here in PA are the fundraisers for their endeavors. American Rescue Workers

United Churches - Center Food Pantry

The United Churches and Center City Food Pantry is currently looking for volunteers to assist in helping to hand out food to those who need it most. If you are interested in making a donation, items currently needed are: canned fruits, sugar, saltine crackers, coffee, noodles, cocoa mix, powdered drink mixes (Kool Aid and lemonade), chunky soups, stove top stuffing, and canned vegetables (especially stewed tomatoes). The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army- Williamsport, located at 457 Market Street, Williamsport, Pa. is in need of:

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Seasonal- November 14 to December 24
  • Volunteers and Volunteer Groups (clubs, organizations, sororities, fraternities) to assist The Salvation Army in their Christmas Red Kettle Campaign ministry. 
  • Assist with weekly youth activities (Wednesday after school troops program)
  • Develop Saturday morning gym program
  • Needed: marketing, program development, etc.
  • Assist with special projects/special events

Tutoring at Williamsport Area High School

The Williamsport Area High School is looking for college students to tutor during their lunch period (11:30- 12:30). Specific subject areas of need are math, art, life skills support, English, and physics/math/science, but any subject area would be welcome.
