For Our Education

One of the best ways to encourage to sustainable coffee farming is through education. Lycoming College works to educate our students, community, and the coffee farms themselves about how sustainable coffee farming is beneficial to everyone. Through service trips to the Dominican Republic, students are able to learn about the poor conditions and prevalent coffee culture there. It also provides our faculty the opportunity to teach the farmers about how to grow richer and more profitable coffee and even develop connections with organizations that can help them improve. The best way to spread the message is to educate them on what you’re trying to accomplish.
