OBTAINING A PRACTICUM

Practica are very similar to Internships except they are actual courses that require 10 to 12 hours of work per week in a business, agency, or organization in addition to classroom time.  Practica are offered in Accounting, Biology, Business, Communication, Criminal Justice, Economics, Education, IMS, Psychology, and Sociology.   A maximum of 16 credits can be earned through practica, internships, and/or student teaching. Students interested in participating in practica must pre-register for the practica within the department.  Students are strongly advised to speak with the practica instructor at least one semester prior to the start of the practica.
