INTERNSHIPS

       Internships not only provide real world experience, they provide an opportunity to explore career choices and develop professional contacts, easing the transition from school to workplace. The department is a member of the Institute for Management Studies, which coordinates student internship placements. The Institute for Management Studies has its own Coordinator of Internships, whose responsibility is to locate the best internship opportunities for IMS students.

       Through the Business 439 Practicum, students have the opportunity to intern with a wide variety of businesses, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations in the surrounding area. Recent sponsors include banks, brokerage firms, retailers, professional sports teams, manufactures, private businesses, health care facilities, and others. Internships in major metropolitan areas throughout the Northeast are being coordinated each year.
