Joe Moyer repairing the chapel lift
The chapel lift met its maker this summer both figuratively and literally. The manufacturer advised us that replacement of the two blown computer boards would cost in excess of $4,000 to repair.
Replacing the lift would cost in excess of $ 20,000.
Fortunately, our staff often thinks "out of the box". Joe Moyer our Electrician Supervisor studied the problem and the schematics. Bypassing all the computer components and relying on a logical
sequencing of electrical relays, Joe had the lift up and running in time for the first Friday noon concert.
By the way, the total cost of the ingenious retrofit: $300!
