Tri-Beta is a national biological honor society for students, particularly undergraduates. The society is dedicated to the understanding and appreciation of biological study, and extending the boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. Since its founding in 1922, more than 100,000 persons have become lifetime members, and more than 320 chapters were established. The society encourages the close professional and personal relationships on which science thrives. In 1980, Lycoming College received a charter to begin the Rho Beta Chapter of Tri-Beta. The chapter offers to its members activities and experiences that enrich and extend, but do not duplicate the primary requirements for the biology major. |
