Facilities

The Biology Department comprises the first floor of the Heim Biology and Chemistry building, as well as much of the ground floor.

The first floor includes 7 teaching laboratories that can each accommodate 15-24 students. The ground floor contains 4 classrooms, a computer lab, several specialty laboratories and storage areas.

  1. National Science Foundation (NSF) Funded Microbial Identification Lab - Microbial Identification Lab funded by $328,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. The Lab features a Biolog Omnilog system, a gas chromatography system for fatty acid methyl ester analysis and an Agilent High Performance Liqiud Chromatography system.
