WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—Lycoming College senior Matt Miller (Muncy, Pa./Montgomery) was voted the 2007-08 Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference Wrestler of the Year by conference coaches and sports information directors.
Miller capped a 20-0 season by winning the NCAA Division III title at 197 pounds, blanking the top-seed and defending national champion 2-0 in the final. Miller entered the tournament as the sixth-seed.
Miller also won the ECWC title at 197 pounds to automatically qualify
for the NCAA Championships. He finishes his career at Lycoming with a 62-21 record and All-America honors.
Blaine Woszczak of Ithaca was named ECWC Rookie of the Year.
The ECWC is made up of Brockport, Cortland, Ithaca, Lycoming, Messiah, Oneonta, Oswego and Rochester Institute of Technology.
