LANDISVILLE, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s tennis team competed at the Middle Atlantic Conference Individual Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 18. Two members of the team advanced to the quarterfinals.

Rebecca Reynolds (South Williamsport, Pa.) advanced to the quarterfinals at No. 2 singles with a three-set win against Sarah Lapp of Arcadia. She took the first set 6-2 before dropping the second set 2-6. In the tie-break, she advanced with a 10-6 win.

Reynolds was defeated in the quarterfinals (0-6, 0-6) by the #3 seed, Jess Smith of DeSales.

Jessica Souchik (Lewis Run, Pa.) earned a walkover victory against Melissa Yake of Albright in the opening round of the No. 6 singles competition.

Souchik was defeated in the quarterfinals (2-6, 0-6) against the #2 seed, Katie Buckley of Wilkes.

Souchik teamed with Kathryn Walker (Red Lion, Pa.) at No. 3 doubles.

The pair advanced to the quarterfinals with a win (8-4) against Alyssa Catuogno and Katrina Musto from FDU-Florham.

They were defeated in the quarterfinals (2-8) by the #1 seed (Michelle Knight and Rebekah Shanaman) from Wilkes.

That concludes the Lady Warriors season.

Lycoming finished the year with an overall record of 2-8 and a 1-4 mark in the Commonwealth Conference.

Reynolds led the team with a 5-7 overall record at the No. 2 singles position.

Walker and Souchik led the team in doubles, posting a combined record of 4-3.
