WILKES-BARRE, Pa.—Lycoming’s women’s tennis team dropped eight games to King’s College on Wednesday, October 10 at Kirby Park. The final score was King’s 8 and Lycoming 1.
The Lady Monarchs swept all three doubles matches to begin the competition, then won five of six singles bouts. Junior number-five singles player Jessica Souchick (Lewis Run, PA) took the Lady Warrior’s sole win, topping her opponent 7-5, 4-6, and then 10-5 in the tiebreaker. Lycoming fell to 3-7 on the season, while King's improved to 10-4 with the victory.
The Lady Warriors will host PSU-Altoona on Friday, October 12 at 3:30 p.m. at Bruce Henry Park. It will be Lycoming’s final match before the Individual Middle Atlantic Conference Tournament on October 20-21.
