In 2007, Joe Balduino took over the Lycoming College women's soccer program after having been an assistant for Lycoming’s men’s soccer team for the past three seasons. Balduino proceeded to lead the Lady Warriors to an 9-8 record that created a bright outlook for the program's immediate future.
Balduino, who graduated from Lycoming in 2004, has coached numerous soccer camps and clubs since 1999. He was a four-year Warrior soccer player, earning team captain in both 2002 and 2003. In 2003, he was selected as Lycoming soccer Man of the Year. Over his career, Joe appeared in 64 games as a Warrior midfielder.
Balduino brings an infectious energy to his team. “In 2008, we will have a great group of young women who are excited to bring Lycoming back to the top of the conference," he says. "I have high expectations to build this program for long-term success. My coaching philosophy centers on success in the classroom, while gaining the skills necessary to become leaders in the community.”
During the 2007 spring semester the Lady Warriors volunteered at the College’s Taking Back Sunday concert at the recreation center. The squad also played in the Alpha Xi Delta annual kick-ball tournament to raise money for the Williamsport YMCA.
Balduino has earned his National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Diploma.
Originally from Washington, N.J., Balduino currently resides in Williamsport, where he works as an Assistant Director of Admisisions for Lycoming.
