WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—Lycoming College’s women’s soccer team (9-8) placed two players on the 2007 All-Commonwealth Conference squad. Senior goalkeeper Jessica Bennett (Crofton, MD/South River) and junior forward Rebekah Shipe (Northumberland, PA/Northumberland) both earned second team.
Bennett’s athleticism was essential to Lycoming’s turnaround in 2007. She started all but one game for the Lady Warriors. Bennett notched four shutouts on the year and compiled 54 saves. For her career, Bennett recorded 347 saves, playing regularly in all four years.
Shipe earned Commonwealth Player of the Week honors in week one of the season. Her four goals and one assist helped Lycoming win the Susquehanna Kickoff Classic. Shipe’s 11 goals on the season were tops for the Lady Warriors and fourth in the conference, while her five assists tied for a team second.
Congratulations to Jess and Bekah for their great performances this year!
