WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—Lycoming’s women’s basketball team (4-1) dominated PSU-Hazleton on Thursday, November 29 by a score of 93-33 at Lamade Gymnasium. The Lady Warriors had 18 steals at halftime and grabbed 46 rebounds on the night, while the Lady Lions shot just 21.7% from the field for the game.
Lycoming freshman Kaitlyn Ober (Lititz, PA) led all scorers with 24 points in just 19 minutes. Ober was unstoppable in the paint, sinking 11 of 13 shots for the game. Sophomore guards Jessica Zerbee (Duncansville, PA) and Allison Mock (State College, PA) scored eight points each.
Junior forward Andrea Cooper (Hollidaysburg, PA) grabbed a team-high six rebounds and five steals to go with her five points. Cooper also played 19 minutes, which was the most for Lycoming.
Lady Warrior head coach Christen Ditzler used all of her bench to try to ease the onslaught on the Lady Lions, but her entire roster showed its talent. Sophomore Samantha Ruby (Thomasville, PA) did a great job platooning at point guard, while five Lycoming players landed two three-pointers, including Ruby, Mock, Zerbee, Alicia Engler (Williamsport, PA) and Amanda Clouse (State College).
The Lady Warriors suit up again on Monday when they face former Freedom Conference opponent King’s College at 7:00 p.m. at Lamade.
