WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—Lycoming’s women’s basketball team (10-11, 1-6) fell to nationally-ranked Messiah (20-2, 7-0) on Wednesday by a score of 56-36. Messiah is currently ranked #7 in the nation and #1 regionally by D3Hoops.com.
Sophomore guards Allison Mock (State College, Pa.) and Jessica Zerbee (Duncansville, Pa.) each hit a pair of three-point shots to total six points apiece for the game. Zerbee led the blue and gold with five rebounds.
Senior Michelle Wisla (Schwenksville, Pa.) scored five points for Lycoming, while sophomore Samantha Ruby (Thomasville, Pa.) converted the Lady Warriors’ only other three-pointer.
Nicki Lobach recorded a game-high 12 points for the Lady Falcons.
Both teams went deep into their benches early and often. Ten players for each squad scored.
Lycoming travels to Albright on Saturday, Feb. 16 for a 2 p.m. game. The Lady Warriors will play their final home contest on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 1 p.m. in Lamade Gymnasium.
