WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—Lycoming’s women’s basketball team (10-5, 1-0) defeated Elizabethtown 73-60 in the first Commonwealth Conference game of the season for both teams on Tuesday.
The Lady Warriors carried a 38-19 lead into halftime thanks to sophomore Jessica Nabholz’ (Cressona, Pa.) 10 first-half points. Nabholz, who was named honorable mention Commonwealth Player of the Week this week, finished the night with team-highs of 14 points and 11 rebounds. She was just four assists shy of a triple-double.
Lycoming had four players in double-digit scoring for the game. Sophomore guards Allison Mock (State College, Pa.) and Samantha Ruby (Thomasville, Pa.) had 12 points apiece, while second-year forward Becky Leid (Demver, Pa.) finished with ten.
The Lady Warriors travel to Widener on Saturday, Jan. 26 for another conference match-up, starting at 1 p.m. at Schwartz Athletic Center.
