FrantzSELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Lycoming College volleyball team went 2-1 on Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Susquehanna Tournament. The Lady Warriors picked up wins against Baptist Bible College and Marywood University before dropping the third match of the day against Susquehanna University.

Lycoming (7-4) opened the day with a 3-0 win over Baptist Bible, recording set scores of 25-16, 25-19 and 25-20.

Senior Heather Frantz (Pine Grove, Pa.) led the team with six kills and 16 digs in the first match. Junior Katie Johnson (Newville, Pa.) posted five kills in the match.

Junior Abby Myers (Shippensburg, Pa.) and freshman Amy Sharlow (Fair Lawn, N.J.) shared the setting duties with Myers handing out 10 assists and Sharlow adding eight. Freshman Emily Abel (Spring Grove, Pa.) recorded a team-high 21 digs in the match.

The Lady Warriors took on Marywood in the second match of the day, defeating the Pacers 3-1 with set scores of 25-20, 20-25, 25-18 and 25-17.

Frantz continued to lead the team in the second match, posting a season-high 11 kills in the match. She also recorded 18 digs. Myers handed out 11 assists while scoring points on seven kills. Sharlow handled the majority of the setting, picking up 23 assists in the match.

In the third match of the day, the Lady Warriors fell 3-0 against Susquehanna with set scores of 25-18, 25-21 and 25-19.

Lycoming struggled offensively in the third match, posting just four kills in the first set and seven in each of the next two sets.

Frantz topped the statistics sheet for the third match in a row, posting six kills and nine digs. Myers was credited with 11 assists

The Lady Warriors will play their second home match of the season on Monday, Sept. 15, against Wilkes. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at Lamade Gymnasium.
