WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—Lycoming’s volleyball team (5-22, 1-2) traveled to Widener University on Tuesday, October 16 for a conference match with the Lady Pride. The Lady Warriors fell in three games 17-30, 18-30, 18-30. Widener clinched its first trip to the Commonwealth Conference Tournament and first berth in a league tournament since 1999 with the victory.
Lycoming outside hitter Heather Frantz (Pine Grove, PA) had a team-high nine kills for the match, while freshman middle hitter Kelly Rose (Wilkes-Barre, PA) had seven. Setter Abby Myers (Shippensburg, PA) had 25 assists over the three games.
For Widener, senior Kim Brady (Pottstown, PA) and sophomore Devan Green (Monroe Center, IL) pounded nine kills apiece.
The Lady Warriors play at Moravian on October 18, then host Elizabethtown at Lamade Gymnasium on Wednesday, October 24 at 7:00 p.m. It will be a conference battle and the final home match of the season.
