WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. –Lycoming's swim teams welcomed the Albright Lions to Lamade Natatorium on Saturday afternoon. Albright's men emerged with a 145-114 victory and the Lady Lions triumphed 152-104. The losses left both Lycoming teams with a 0-1 conference record so far in 2007. However, both the men’s and women’s teams performed well and kept times exceptionally close to Albright's best.
On the men’s side, freshman Ryan Adamson (Warrington, PA) showed his potential with two convincing wins. In the men’s 50 yard and the 100 yard freestyles he set the standard. Junior Brandon Good (Clearfield, PA) had the only other individual win on the men’s side in the 100 yard butterfly. The Warriors 800 yard freestyle ralay team also claimed victory. Adamson added his talent to the Lycoming foursome, which included David Zablocki (Joppa MD), Brian Fausel (Burdett, NY), and John Dougherty (Mountain Top, PA).
For the Lady Warriors, another freshman sparked the effort. Stacy Flick (Easton, PA) won the 200 yard IM, and helped out with a second place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke and a 3rd place finish in the 100 yard freestyle. Junior Jessie Gallagher (Cheltenham, PA) had the only other individual win for the women’s team and represented one-fourth of the winning 800 yard freestyle relay team which included captains Holley Miller (Lykens, PA) and Amanda Guminski (Ambler, PA), along with freshman Margaret Emery (Burke, VA).
The Lycoming swim teams look to improve on their record as they welcome Elizabethtown to the pool at Lamade on Saturday, November 10. The meet begins at 1:00 p.m.
