COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.—Lycoming College’s men’s and women’s swim teams defeated Ursinus on Friday, November 16. The Lady Warriors won 104-80, while the men claimed a 95-79 victory.
Freshman Stacy Flick (Easton, PA) won the 200-yard IM, the 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard freestyle for the women, while junior Jessie Gallagher (Cheltenham, PA) took the 100-yard butterfly. Freshman Ryan Adamson (Warrington, PA) and sophomore Caroline LeHota (Bellefonte, PA) won their respective 50-yard freestyle sprints, while sophomore John Dougherty (Mountain Top, PA) took the men’s 200-yard freestyle.
Adamson and LeHota also placed first in the men’s 100-yard freestyle and the women’s 100-yard backstroke respectively, and freshman Dave Zablocki (Joppa, MD) topped the 500-yard freestyle.
It appears that head coach Jerry Hammaker is recognizing a core of strong swimmers to lead his teams throughout 2007-2008 and for years to come.
The Lady Warriors and Warriors travel next to Hammaker’s alma mater The College of Wooster for a three-day invitational from November 29 through December 1.
