WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. –Lycoming's men's and women's swim teams traveled to Clarion University last weekend to compete against some excellent squads. Although the men finished fourth out of five and the women finished sixth out of seven, Lycoming rose to the challenge and surely benefitted from the stiff competition.
The women’s team came away with 83 points. Team captain Kirsten Snyder (Reading, PA) had the best finish on the squad, grabbing third place in the 200 yard breaststroke. Two freshmen, Meg Emery (Burke, VA) and Stacy Flick (Easton, PA), placed in the top ten in two events and should prove crucial members of this year’s Lady Warrior team. Junior Jessie Gallagher (Cheltenham, Pa.) also finished with competitive times in several events.
The men came away with two fifth place finishes by freshman Joe Kuder (Moorestown NJ) in the 500 freestyle and captain Brian Fausel (Burdett, NY) in the 200 butterfly. Fausel and Kuder had excellent efforts in all their events. Sophomores Sean Houser (Alexandria, VA) and John Dougherty (Mountain Top, PA) also swam well for the event.
This could prove to be an exciting season with all the young talent the Warriors and Lady Warriors possess. Lycoming looks forward to facing conference rival Albright at home on November 3 at 1:00pm.
