WILKES-BARRE, Pa.—Lycoming’s women’s and men’s swimming teams fared well on day two of the Middle Atlantic swimming championships at the Catholic Youth Center in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday. The final day of competition is Sunday.
Saturday’s opening event was the 200-yard medley relay. The Lady Warriors team of Caroline LeHota (Bellefonte, Pa.), Stacy Flick (Easton, Pa.), Jessie Gallagher (Cheltenham, Pa.) and Nichole Zoller (Colonia, N.J.) finished third, while the men’s team of Sean Houser (Alexandria, Va.), Dave Zablocki (Joppa, Md.), Brian Fausel (Burdett, N.Y.) and Ryan Adamson (Warrington Pa.) placed fourth.
In the 400-yard IM, Lady Warrior Milvana Ban (Harrisburg, Pa.) took third, while Flick took third in 100-yard breaststroke. Third was Lycoming’s highest finish of the day. Coincidentally, both the Warriors and Lady Warriors are third among teams at this point of the meet.
Fausel took fifth in the men’s 100-yard butterfly, while Meg Emery (Burke, Va.) and John Dougherty (Mountain Top, Pa.) placed seventh and fourth in the women’s and men’s 200-yard freestyle, respectively.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Zoller placed third, while LeHota and Steph Conrad (Enola, Pa.) were fifth and seventh, respectively. Houser finished third in the 100 backstroke for the men’s highest individual placement of the day.
The 800-yard freestyle relay was Saturday’s final event. The Lady Warriors team of Ban, Emery, Amy Bentz (Elizabethtown, Pa.) and Kirsten Snyder (Reading, Pa.) took fifth, while Zablocki, Dougherty, Adamson and Chad Lemmons (Boiling Springs, Pa.) placed third for the Warriors.
Sunday’s events are the 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast and butterfly, and the 400 free. The rookie of the year, coach of the year and Eavenson awards will also be presented in the afternoon.
