WILKES-BARRE, Pa.—Lycoming’s swim teams competed in the opening day of the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships on Friday. The event continues through Sunday at the Catholic Youth Center in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
In the opening 200-yard freestyle relay, the Lady Warrior team of Stacy Flick (Easton, Pa.), Caroline LeHota (Bellefonte, Pa.), Nichole Zoller (Colonia, N.J.) and Danielle Mulvey (Pasadena, Md.) finished third, while the mens’ team of Ryan Adamson (Warrington, Pa.), Chad Lemmons (Boiling Springs, Pa.), Brandon Good (Clearfield, Pa.) and Sean Houser (Alexandria, Va.) placed fourth.
Following the 200 free relay, John Dougherty (Mountan Top, Pa.) took fifth in the men’s 500-yard freestyle race and Meg Emery (Burke, Va.) placed seventh for the women’s team. Milvana Ban (Harrisburg, Pa.) then finished fourth in the 200-yard IM, while Brian Fausel (Burdett, N.Y.) took eighth.
Freshmen Flick and Adamson recorded Lycoming's highest finishes of the day, taking second in the women's and men's 50-yard freestyle sprint, respectively.
In day one’s final contest, Lycoming’s women placed fourth in the 400-yard medley relay. The team consisted of LeHota, Flick, Jessie Gallagher (Cheltenham, Pa.) and Ban. The men’s team of Houser, Dave Zablocki (Joppa, Md.), Fausel and Dougherty took fifth.
Both Lycoming's men's and women's swimming teams ended day one of the championships in third place overall.
Day two of the MAC Championships will feature the 200 medley relay, 400 IM, 100 breast, butterfly and back, as well as the 800 free relay.
