ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.—Lycoming’s softball team (1-15, 0-6) lost both games of a doubleheader to Middle Atlantic Conference opponent Elizabethtown on Saturday. The score of the opener was 5-0, while the second contest ended with the final score 5-2.
Sophomore Jessica Nabholz (Cressona, Pa.) took the loss in the first game, despite giving up just five hits and three earned runs. Freshman center fielder Amber Moyer (Cleona, Pa.) had the Lady Warriors’ only hit on a single in the sixth inning.
Senior catcher Holly Billow (Millersburg, Pa.) and sophomore Courtney Black (Stevens, Pa.) scored Lycoming’s two runs in the second contest. Junior Marissa Hastings (Old Forge, Pa.) drove in Black in the second inning. Billow doubled and scored on an error in the fourth, cutting E-town’s lead to 3-2. The Lady Blue Jays scored one in the fifth and again in the sixth to complete the tally.
Lycoming travels to Albright on Monday, April 14 for a 3 p.m. doubleheader.
