Bald named Commonwealth Goalkeeper of the Week

David BaldANNVILLE, Pa. – Lycoming College junior David Bald was named the Commonwealth Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for his efforts in the Lycoming Kickoff Classic held Aug. 30-31. The honor, announced by the conference office on Tuesday, Sept. 2, is the first of his career.

Bald, a native of Annapolis, Md., led the Warriors to the tournament title by allowing just one goal in 200 minutes played.

Lycoming battled to a 1-1 tie with Centenary College (N.J.) to open the season on Aug. 30 before shutting out Marywood 4-0 on Aug. 31 to seal the championship.

Bald was outstanding in net, recording his first win and first shutout of the season. During the two games, he recorded 5 saves, posting a 0.45 goals against average.

The Warriors (1-0-1) will travel to Waynesburg on Saturday, Sept. 6, for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
