WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – This past weekend, the Lycoming College men’s basketball team and first-year head coach Guy Rancourt invited prominent members of the campus community and the city of Williamsport to come take photos with the team.
The gesture officially opened the Rancourt era of Lycoming basketball, which will be on full display in the season opening Lycoming Tip-off Tournament next weekend, Nov. 15-16, at Lamade Gymnasium.
Lycoming College president James Douthat and his wife, Emily, were amongst the members of the campus community that were on hand to have their photo taken with the team. City officials, former players and alums of the College also took part in the photo day.
The Warriors will officially open the season at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, against Penn State-Hazleton.
Hazleton, Hood College (Md.) and Scranton will take part in the two-day tournament.
Hood and Scranton will play at 6 p.m. on Nov. 15. The losers of each opening game will play a consolation game at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16. The winners of the opening games will play at 4 p.m. in the championship.
Fans that purchase a program ($2.00) at the Lycoming football game on Nov. 15 (1 p.m. kickoff) will be admitted to Saturday’s tournament games for free.
