SCRANTON, Pa.—Lycoming’s men’s basketball team (7-5) defeated Scranton University (7-4) on Sunday by a score of 79-67 in the championship game of Scranton’s Radisson Invitational.
Led by Tournament Most Valuable Player Eric Anthony’s (Wheeling, WV) 19 points, the Warriors shot 53.7% from the field for the game, while holding the Royals to a 32.7 shooting percentage. Anthony and junior Greg Sye (Chantilly, VA) shared the Warrior lead with eight rebounds apiece.
Seniors David Wilson (Pottsville, PA) and Kevin Morris (Camp Hill, PA) scored 17 and 15 points, respectively. Lycoming went 0-for-10 from beyond the three-point line in the first half, but hit 4-of-6 in the second period to assure their victory. Both Morris and Anthony went 6-of-6 from the foul line and represented Lycoming on the All-Tournament team.
The Warriors are on the road at Cabrini on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. The blue and gold return home to Lamade Gymnasium on Jan. 17 to face Penn-State Hazleton at 7 p.m.

SCRANTON, Pa—Lycoming’s men’s basketball team (6-5) defeated Wesley College at the University of Scranton’s Radisson Invitational on Saturday by a score of 76-66. The Warriors advance to the championship game to play Scranton on Sunday at 3 p.m.
Sophomore Eric Anthony (Wheeling, WV) and senior Kevin Morris (Camp Hill, PA) had matching nights, hitting 6-of-12 field goals while going 4-of-7 from three point range. Anthony ended up with 20 points, including 4-of-4 from the foul line, while Morris scored 18 and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
Junior Jemayne Nowlin (Gaithersburg, MD) also realized double digit points with 12 for the game. Senior David Wilson (Pottsville, PA) hit 5-of-6 free throws on his way to eight points.
The Warriors scored the first 11 points of the game in less than three minutes to take command of the game. Lycoming stretched the lead to 19 at the half, 42-23.
After an Anthony three made it a 20 point game, 45-25, the Wolverines used an 18-5 run to cut it to single digits. Wesley’s Rashawn Johnson finished the rally with a three that made it 50-43 with 12:45 remaining in the contest.
Wesley would eventually cut it to five points on two occasions. But after a Khyle Nelson lay up with 4:12 to play, Lycoming scored six straight points to put the game away and take a 70-59 lead.
After tomorrow’s championship game, Lycoming travels to Cabrini on Wednesday, Jan. 9 for a 7 p.m. game. The Warriors return home to play PSU-Hazleton on Jan. 17.
