WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—Lycoming’s men’s basketball team ran away with the “College Town Clash” versus Pennsylvania College of Technology on Tuesday, November 20. When the dust settled, the Warriors won by a score of 87-52.
Junior Greg Sye (Chantilly, VA) and sophomore Ricky Varnell (Patterson, NY) took full advantage of a smaller Penn College team, although PCT’s sole big man Joe Wysock played admirably. Sye had his first two dunks of the season on his way to a double-double with ten points and a team-high 11 rebounds. Varnell scored nine points with five boards.
Sophomore point guard Eric Anthony (Wheeling, WV) was one assist away from his own double-double. Anthony recorded a game-high 22 points and nine dimes. Junior Jemayne Nowlin (Gaithersburg, MD) was the only other Warrior scoring in double digits with 11 points. Senior captain David Wilson (Pottsville, PA) notched nine points, while hometown Warriors Will Kelly and Billy Goodell had three and five respectively.
Lycoming head coach Don Friday substituted generously, gaining important experience for his first-year players. The Warriors have now won two in a row early in the season, but they must wait nearly a week for their next challenge. On Monday November 26, Lycoming hosts New Jersey City College at 7:00 p.m. at Lamade Gymnasium.
