JERSEY CITY , N.J - Lycoming's men's basketball team (5-5) fell to New Jersey City University on Monday, Dec. 17 by a score of 61-52. The Warriors defeated the Gothic Knights earlier this season, but NJCU evened the score with a victory last night.
Freshman forward Will Kelly (Williamsport, PA) started the game and put up ten points. This total equaled point guard Eric Anthony's (Wheeling, WV) effort. Junior guard Jemayne Nowlin (Gaithersburg, MD) led the Warriors with 14 points on the strength of a team-high three three-pointers. Kelly also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds, while Anthony dished six assists.
The score at halftime was 23-21, New Jersey City, but the Gothis Knights went on a 22-3 run in the middle of the game to take control. NJCU had four players in double-digits, although the Warriors held All-American Dana John to just nine points.
Lycoming will now wait to play until the Scranton University Tournament on Jan. 5-6.
