Michael was an all-star offensive lineman as a Warrior. In 1996, he was selected as an All-American in many national publications, including The Sporting News, Street & Smith’s, American Football Quarterly, Bob Griese’s College Football, Hewlett-Packard and the Football Gazette. Downey was a two-time Downtown Wilkes-Barre Touchdown Club Offensive Lineman of the Year, one of the highest honors in Division III football. He also earned first team All-Freedom Conference honors for three straight years from 1994-96. In 1995, Downey was Lycoming’s Co-Offensive Player of the Year. Michael currently works for House Doctor Handyman Service, where he is an office manager and estimator.
