WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Lycoming sophomore basketball players James Oberlies (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Billy Goodell (Williamsport, Pa.) visited Jeanne Goodell's fifth grade classroom at Cochran Elementary School on Wednesday. The players read to the students and talked to them about the expectations of high school and college sports.
"Our students were just thrilled to meet both Billy and James," remarked Mrs. Goodell, who is Billy's aunt.
"James and I split up and each of us read a story to 25 kids," said Billy Goodell. "After the story, the kids asked us questions like 'Do you make money?' and 'Are you going to go pro?' Then one kid asked me what classes I was taking and I said French. Then another kid yelled out, 'You know how to make French dressing? Can you teach me?' After the questions we passed out stickers, and schedules and t-shirts. The kids had a great time and didn't want us to leave."
