ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lycoming College running back Josh Kleinfelter and defensive back Chuck Bellitto were honored as Players of the Week by the Middle Atlantic Conference, as announced by the league office on Monday, Sept. 22.
Kleinfelter, a native of Bellwood, Pa., was named the Offensive Player of the Week for his record-setting performance against Susquehanna on Saturday, Sept. 20. The sophomore tailback broke the school’s single-game record for rushing attempts with 42 carries, surpassing the previous record of 39 carries, set by Tim Deasey in 2001. He finished with a career-high 229 yards and three touchdowns in the game.
His efforts also earned him the Warrior of the Week honor within Lycoming athletics.

Bellitto, a native of New Holland, Pa., earned the Defensive Player of the Week honor after making his first start of the season in the secondary. He led the Warriors with 11 total tackles against Susquehanna, including seven solo stops. He also had one interception, which he returned 32 yards to set up a Lycoming score.
The Warriors defeated Susquehanna, 28-16, to improve to 1-1 on the season.
Lycoming remains home this Saturday, Sept. 27, for a 1 p.m. game against Bridgewater (Va.).
