ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lycoming senior defensive back Nick Reese has been named the Middle Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Albright on Saturday, Oct. 11. The Warriors defeated the Lions 23-13 to improve to 2-0 in the MAC.
Lycoming gathered two votes in the D3Football.com top-25 poll, making the list of teams earning votes for the first time this season. The only other team in the conference to earn votes is Delaware Valley. The Aggies rank 14th in this week’s poll.
Reese (Shenandoah, Pa.) earns his first MAC weekly honor after leading the Warrior defense with 12 total tackles against Albright, including seven solo stops. He also pulled down his first interception of the season and followed it with a 24-yard return.
Lycoming improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference and remains in a two-way tie with Delaware Valley atop the standings.
The Warriors will travel to Wilkes-Barre, Pa., this Saturday, Oct. 18, for a 1 p.m. MAC showdown with Wilkes.
