Lycoming Football Head Coach

Mike Clark is in his first season as head football coach at Lycoming College. Clark, who played and coached under former head coach Frank Girardi, was named head coach on Jan. 16, 2008.

Since 2000, Clark served as the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Division I FCS (formerly I-AA) Davidson College in North Carolina. In 2006, Clark oversaw an offense that averaged 383.6 yards per game, which ranked 13th in the nation. Under his instruction, the Wildcats offensive line allowed only 19 sacks during a two season span in which they attempted 774 passes.

Before coaching at Davidson, Clark was the offensive line coach at Lycoming from July 1998 to May 2000. During that time, the Warriors made the NCAA playoffs twice.

From 1996-98, Clark was the tight ends and running backs coach at Princeton University. During his time at Princeton, Clark was responsible for recruiting prospects from various locations in the Northeast, as well as assisting in the weekly game plan.

After graduating from Lycoming in May 1993 with a bachelor of arts degree in business administration, Clark earned the master of business administration degree from Rowan College. While at Rowan, Clark served as a graduate assistant and tight ends coach until April 1996.

"As a former Lycoming player and coach, I am honored to be named Lycoming’s head football coach,” said Clark upon accepting the job. “I'm excited to return to Lycoming football and its rich tradition, and I plan to continue the success established by Coach Frank Girardi and the staff. We are fortunate to have tremendous student-athletes at Lycoming and we are eager to begin our pursuit of a MAC Championship. I look forward to getting to know the players, the coaching and support staff, and members of the college community."

Clark, a native of Ridley Park, Pa., and his wife, Danielle, have two daughters, Allison (6) and Emily (21 months), and a son, Brendan (3).
