Kari SmithPHILADELPHIA – The Lycoming College men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the Cabrini Invitational at Belmont Park in Philadelphia on Saturday, Oct. 11. The women’s team came away 14th with the men’s team placing 15th.

The women’s squad finished with 429 points in the women’s 5,000-meter race.

Kari Smith (Corning, N.Y.) led the Lady Warriors with a 64th-place finish. She covered the 3.1 mile course in 22:39.38.

Alex Rinaldi (Sellersville, Pa.) was the next across the line, finishing 118th in 25:54.97. She was followed by Holly Andrews (Plymouth Township, Pa.) in 126th (26:47.09), Gillian Robbins (Mount Holly, N.J.) in 130th (28:19.53) and Chelsea Holbert (Lackawaxen, Pa.) in 146th (33:16.79).

The men’s team finished with 418 points in the 8,000-meter race.

The Warriors were led by Robert Holmes (Oxford, Mass.), who covered the course in 30:43.97 to place 93rd overall. He was closely followed by Tim Aulett (Warminster, Pa.) in 94th-place (30:51.44).

Scott Boyles (Williamsport, Pa.) was the next Warrior across the line, placing 126th (32:56.18). He was followed by Robert Wiechecki (Garnet Valley, Pa.) in 134th (33:27.16). Anthony Pilla (Milford, Pa.) rounded out the Lycoming scorers, finishing in 152nd (35:05.47).

Also completing the race for Lycoming was Jordan Baker (St. Mary’s, Pa.), finishing 156th (35:35.41), Kevin Lasko (Rockville, Md.) in 160th (36:11.55) and Paul Laue (Trumansburg, N.Y.) in 165th (36:59.77).

Both teams will travel to Albright next Saturday, Oct. 18, for a 10 a.m. meet.
