PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—Lycoming’s Cross Country team traveled to Philadelphia on Saturday, September 22 for the Belmont Classic, a metropolitan race that garnered 25 schools and over 400 individual competitors.
The top five Lady Warriors included sophomore Kari Smith (Corning, NY) who placed 46th. Senior Kelly Zielinski (Harrisburg, PA) also graced the top 100 with a 70th finish. Holly Andrews (Plymouth, PA), Gillian Robbins (Mount Holly, NJ) and Jen Reams (Danville, PA) took places 136, 141 and 144 respectively.
On the men’s side, four Warriors achieved top 100 status. Freshman Ryan Evans (Mechanicsburg, PA) had Lycoming’s highest finish, grabbing 35th, while Tim Aulett (Warminster, PA), Greg Sledzik (White Hall, MD) and Steven Brown (Lock Haven, PA) took 59th, 65th and 83rd respectively. Jordan Baker (St. Mary’s, PA) and Paul Laue (Trumansburg, NY) rounded out Lycoming’s top five with 123rd and 125th finishes.
Cross Country is on the road again on October 6 at Dickinson.
