Art and Liberal Arts

Art students at Lycoming College begin in the Foundation Program, a seven-course core that teaches the essential skills, grammar and history of visual language. Students then choose a specialization to prepare for graduate school or acquire the skills necessary to enter a professional field. In the Liberal Arts portion of their education, our students acquire a wide informational base while learning to write and think critically.

BA degree in Studio Art with specializations in
Commercial Design, Painting, Printmaking, Photography/Electronic Art, and Sculpture;
BA with Teaching Certification (K-12);
and BA in Art History

Scholarships

The Art Department offers merit scholarships for talented incoming freshman and transfer students, renewable in subsequent years. A portfolio review is not required for admission to the art department, but is required for merit scholarships.
