Robin Knauth, Program Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Old Testament, stands in front of an ancient mud brick arched gateway at Tel Dan after the 1994 Ashkelon dig. She also dug in Cyprus in 2005 and at Gezer from 2006 to 2009.
Dr. Steven Johnson, our fearless Dig Coordinator, Associate Professor of New Testament, and Religion Department Chair, is a veteran digger of Bethsaida, Megiddo & Idalion Cyprus.
Robin Van Auken is currently teaching Introduction to American Field Archeology Method and Theory for the Archaeology Program and Feature Writing for Special Audiences for the Communications Department. She has directed May Term digs locally at Canfield Island, Thomas Lightfoote Inn, the Snyder Site, and the Muncy Canal with the local chapter of the Society for PA Archeology and the local Historical Museums.
Dr. Pamela Gaber is the Director of the Lycoming College Excavation at Idalion Cyprus, and is Professor of Archaeology and Judaic Studies. Trained at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and at Harvard in archaeology, she began her excavating career digging in Israel for several years. She has been directing the excavations and field school at Idalion since 1987.
Kirsten Darby plans a double major in Religion and Archaeology. She is a tutor for both. She dug at Gezer in summer 2007, and will study abroad in Germany in fall 2007 with a Phi Kappa Phi travel fellowship, following an internship at the Berlin Museum.
Lesley Haines came here from China and plans a double major in Archaeology and History. She attended the ASOR annual meeting in 2005. She is interested in underwater archaeology. She dug at Gezer in 2007.
Stephani Crecelius hails from Minnesota and plans a major in Archaeology.
