Family Weekend 2008

Family Weekend 2008 is September 19-21.

Family Weekend is a great time for family and friends to visit students on campus. Join your student in the classroom and enjoy lunch in the cafeteria. Cheer on the football team, attend a Lycoming College Choir concert, stroll through the quad, take a walking tour of downtown Williamsport, relax on a paddlewheel boat ride down the beautiful Susquehanna River, enjoy live family-friendly entertainment, or watch a family movie on campus. We look forward to having you join us!

Gamma Delta Sigma invites you to our 18th Annual Brandy Lee Sudol Auction.

This auction is held to honor the memory of a lost sister, Brandy Lee Sudol,

who died of Hodgkin’s Disease. Come join us to help raise funds for a memorial scholarship

Downtown Williamsport offers a lovely mix of history and hidden treasures. Join Beth Ann Scruggs ’90 for a walking tour of Williamsport's downtown. Enjoy a peek into its proud past and wind up the tour by finding a unique spot for lunch. ADVANCE REGISTRATION REQUIRED.

A celebratory gathering for legacy students and their alumni parents or grandparents.

12:30 p.m.  2nd Annual Dean’s List Tailgate Northwest corner of David Person Field

Held in appreciation of those donors who contributed at or above the Dean’s List Giving Society level

during the College’s 2008 fiscal year. (This event is by invitation.)

1:30 p.m.  Football: Lycoming vs. Susquehanna – David Person Field

1:30 p.m.  Women’s Tennis: Lycoming vs. Albright – Bruce Henry Park, Loyalsock Township

2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Hiawatha Riverboat Tour Meet in Recreation Center Lobby (lower level)

Cruise the Susquehanna River on the historic Hiawatha Paddlewheeler. Bus transportation leaves from

Recreation Center Lobby (lower level) at 2:00 p.m. Cruise begins at 2:30 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults and

$3 for children 10 and under. Limited tickets available. ADVANCE REGISTRATION REQUIRED. 

4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Family Feud Tournament – Room G-09, Heim Building

The Black Student Union sponsors this annual tournament, similar to the television game show. Prizes awarded. For more information contact Jasmine Sanders at sanjasm@lycoming.edu. ADVANCE REGISTRATION REQUIRED.

6:00 p.m. Family Weekend Dinner – Jane Schultz Room, Wertz Student Center

Cost is $15 for adults, $10 for Lycoming students, and $5 for children 10 and under. Limited seating.

10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.  Gamma Sigma Alpha Induction Ceremony – Jane Schultz Room, Wertz Student Center

Gamma Sigma Alpha exists to recognize and advance academic excellence as a core value of fraternities and sororities. Students who have completed 60 credits and have achieved a 3.5 or higher GPA are inducted into this society. Parents, family, and friends are invited to join us to honor our inductees.
