Communication

Communication is an important part of any job today. In fact, more than one-fourth of all jobs in the United States involves some kind of communication as a major component.

A major in communication can not only prepare you for positions in the traditional media—television, radio, newspaper, public relations, and advertising – but it can help you develop those key communication skills necessary for nearly every career.

Lycoming offers a liberal arts approach to studying mass media and communication. The major is designed to develop an understanding of the social, historical, and cultural roles of mass media. Students take courses from other departments as well as media-specific courses within the major.
